Check-in Europe in Tuscany : garagErasmus signs a Memorandum of Undestanding for the first meet up of the Erasmus Generation next 17 October 2014 at the Pisa International Airport.
8 may 2014 - The Municipality of Pisa and the Foundation garagErasmus organized last May 8 at the Royal Hall of the Municipality of Pisa (Italy) a public meeting on " Mobility of Talent in Europe : implications for the work and business of the local territory" to illustrate and discuss with citizens, students , teachers, professionals and businesses the economic and cultural benefits that can be drawn from the mobilization of talents.
During this event, garagErasmus presented the project of the first meet up between Erasmus Generation and enterprises at International Pisa Airport October 17th 2014, Terminal B. Region of Tuscany, the city of Pisa , University of Pisa, Tuscany Confindustria , the Chamber of Commerce of Pisa, Pisa International Airport - SAT, Tenuta di San Rossore and the Foundation garagErasmus will sign a memorandum of understanding to support and develop this initiative.
Despite an unprecedented youth unemployment , one third of companies in Europe do not find the qualified staff they need and complain about poor effective tools to help international partnerships. The former Erasmus (who represent the majority of the so- called Erasmus Generation) according to tests carried out before and after the experience of mobility have developed skills and competencies required by the labor market .
Among these are: adaptability (requested by 96 % of companies), open-mindedness, the ability to move in multicultural and interdisciplinary knowledge of languages and a stronger predisposition to creativity. From the studies carried out by the European Commission, those who has lived this experience of mobility continues to be more inclined to mobility even during their professional experience (26 % more) and ten years after graduation have 64% more chances of career management in virtue of their ability to move in an international context .
A test performed on 12,000 Erasmus students found a greater desire to do business , nearly 62 % of respondents , compared to those who have lived this experience. All this human capital is not highly valued.
garagErasmus , in collaboration with the European Commission , therefore plays the unique role of mobiliser of these resources in order to make a tangible contribution to local economic development , and facilitating the meeting with the mobile talents with those companies seeking to expand to new markets; and it fosters young company with an international twist. garagErasmus is the first professional network of those who lived experience of student mobility , particularly of the 3 million former Erasmus .
Hywel Cery Jones, founder of the Erasmus Programme at the European Commission, intervened at the meeting telling about the origin of Erasmus Programme.
Furthermore, an hangout there was held with Susana Corvelo, Director or Innovation at Lisbon Municipality and former Erasmus from Warsaw to discuss about the engagement of the Lisbon system on a future meet up in Libson and in Warsaw as well.
